Hi readers, welcome back to our
blog. First, I want to say Happy Fasting for every of you who do that. Today what
I’ll tell you is some of Ramadan traditions in several countries. Before write
this posting, I’ve wrote some awesome ways to give beggars in the world. You can read
that here. Well, let’s back to the
topic, Ramadhan –the other name of Fasting Month-- is greeted with joy.
Each country has traditions and habits for welcome fast. Ramadan is also characterized by a variety of
unique traditions. In the villages over Indonesia, the
people is still going around the village and singing Shalawat during every
Ramadhan night. Sometimes every big mosque in every city provide free
takjil and food for the beggars. This year, Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta --the biggest mosque
in South-East Asia-- has
prepared 1000 packages of food
to people who want to have breakfast together in the mosque. For filling the waiting break-fast time, the
people do some meaningful activities, such as reading Al-Quran, make DIY
stuff, and prepare the food. It’s often
called Ngabuburit. Not only in Indonesia, Moeslems in some countries also have different traditions
to celebrate Ramadhan. In Iraq, during the
waiting of the break-fast time, the people
will play Mehebes. This is a charade where the winner will gets some dates. Of course,
the dates which I mean in this case are fruits. :D Another unique tradition can be found in Mekkah and Sarjah, Saudi
Arabia. Before TV and Radio was found, the only way to tell when we can eat
break-fast together is shoot a Cannon to the sky and those cities still do that in every Ramadhan until know. I wonder the feelings when they wait
for the sound.

Egyptians also have
some traditions to celebrate this Holy Month. They hang a pattern lamp, called Fanoos at every front door of buildings,
such as houses, supermarkets and shops. The Fanooses
are very beautiful because of their colorful pattern. It’s
makes me want to own one of them. Well, that’s all from me, If you want to know
more information about this, you can go here... After all, thanks for read my
posting and have a nice day!
